Alfred "Dave" David Somers Jr.

Alfred David Somers, Jr. was born in St Louis, MO to Joan (Hinton) and Alfred David Somers on November 6, 1956 and departed this life at home at Coldwater Ranch in Eminence, MO on December 4, 2022 at the age of 66 from cancer.

Dave was preceded in death by both parents; his only brother, Darrell Somers as well as his favorite Uncle, Frank Somers.

He is survived by one sister, Debbie, and 6 children:  Elizabeth, Alfred III, Jessica, Andrew, Clint, and Jake, as well as special cousin Harvey Somers, and companion Kathy Phillips and several grandchildren.

Dave was a private, complicated man.  His many interests included hunting, fishing, archery, and anything else outdoors. He read history books and magazines at the end of the day, watched football, baseball, and documentaries.  His professions included roofer, builder, commercial fisherman, trucker, remodeler, and fix-it-all man.

The last 12 years of Dave's life were spent at the Coldwater Ranch in Eminence, MO with companion Kathy Phillips.  Together they shared the struggles of keeping a small business viable and welcoming.  He loved the ranch as much as he loved Kathy, so each day was an adventure.  He would talk politics and history with anyone who would listen and he could join a conversation about most anything.

Dave was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
