Avis Maudeline Bond Thomas, the daughter of Bill Bond and Blanche Jackson Bond was born January 11th, 1930 at home in Hartshorn, Missouri and passed away at Licking Park Manor in Licking, Missouri on February 8th, 2022 making her age 92 years and 28 days. Avis loved the Lord and we are comforted in knowing she is free from all pain and rejoicing with her Savior.
Avis was united in marriage to Roy “Doc” Thomas in March of 1949. To this union 2 children were born: Randy Gene and Rocky Lee.
Avis was a member of Hartshorn Assembly of God for many years and regularly attended First Baptist Church for a number of years.
When Avis was a young girl, she loved to square dance. Having the grandkids visit was something she looked forward to and enjoyed the time they spent together. Avis could be found tending to flowers and gardening on many sunny afternoons, carefully making sure she had a variety of beautiful flowers on display. She also enjoyed spending time watching The Waltons and favorite westerns like Gunsmoke and John Wayne movies.
Avis is preceded in death by her father Bill Bond, mother Blanche Bond, brothers Howard Bond, Lindy Bond, Claude (Red) Bond, Leroy Bond, Paul Ray Bond, Kenneth Bond, Eddie Bond, sister Beulah Mae Jones and grandson Eric Thomas.
Surviving are son Randy Thomas and wife Teresa of Cuba, Missouri, son Rocky Thomas and wife Carla of Raymondville, Missouri, granddaughter Candee Luther of Kansas City, Missouri grandson Shane Thomas of Springfield, Missouri and sisters, Mae Mitchell of Summersville, Missouri and Bonnie Allen of Norwood, Missouri.
Avis was a kind and caring soul loved by all who knew her and will forever be missed.
