Bertha "Deloris" Pierce

December 17, 1936 — February 27, 2025

Eminence

Bertha Deloris (Dreasler) Pierce was born December 17, 1936, on Mill Creek near Peck Ranch in Missouri, to parents James and Ethel (Lane) Dreasler.

Deloris was raised on Mill Creek until her dad got a job with MDC and then moved to Coot Mountain. Later, the family moved to a farm belonging to Carl Seaman that was closer to Eminence, where she attended high school.

One of her fondest memories was when she would get off the bus from school and be met by her baby sister, Connie. She would always walk hand in hand with her or carry her home. There was a 14-year difference in their ages, so needless to say, she was known to spoil her sister and would always ‘pose’ her for pictures!

Deloris loved her family dearly, loved family gatherings, and loved to travel. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand and give advice, whether we needed it or not! She loved cats & could never leave a cat homeless.

Deloris worked at Angelica Uniform Co. for several years and became a union representative.

After graduation, Deloris met Richard Pierce, who became her husband on June 15, 1955. To this union, one daughter was born, Linda Sue, who was the apple of their eyes.

Deloris was a member of the West Eminence Christian Church and was baptized as a young adult.

Deloris departed this life on February 27, 2025, at the Rock Point Nursing Center in Birch Tree, MO, at the age of 88.

Deloris is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ethel Dreasler; husband, Richard Pierce; daughter, Linda McDonald; sister, Maxine Ficker; brothers-in-law, Robert Jaster and James Ficker and Dane Holland; nephew, Dwight Holland.

Left to mourn her passing are sisters Lucille Jaster and Connie Holland, both of Eminence, MO; son-in-law, Troy McDonald of Munford, TN; granddaughters, Stefany (Jeremy) Phillips and Shannon (Carl) Potter, both from TN; grandsons, Troy Allen McDonald, Jr. of KY and Ethan McDonald of TN; great-grandsons, Mack Phillips, Ford Phillips, Ethan Jr. McDonald; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte McDonald, all of TN. Many cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends will mourn her passing.
