Bessie Mae Brawley, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Eliza “Annie” (Powell) Tuttle, was born on February 16, 1923 in Summersville, Missouri. She passed away on April 29, 2019 at Mtn. View Healthcare in Mtn. View, Missouri at the age of 96.
Bessie was united in marriage to Corvin Thomas Brawley on September 27, 1939 and to their union two children were born, Janett Pauline and Corvin Dale.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Summersville where she also spent many years cleaning and keeping the Church tidy. She and Corvin were baptized on March 30, 1956.
Bessie enjoyed sewing, painting, making quilts, gardening and playing music. She especially enjoyed time spent with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Annie Tuttle; her husband Corvin; brothers and sisters, Gloster Tuttle, Gladys Tuttle, Wilma Breeding, Alice Jones, Glen Tuttle, Elmer Tuttle and Delmar Tuttle; and a son-in-law, Roy Burrows.
Bessie is survived by her daughter Janett Curnutt and her husband Harold; son, Dale Brawley and his wife Denise all of Summersville, Missouri; her grandchildren, Paula Sue Sykes and her husband Randy of of West Plains, Missouri, Connie Lynn Burrows of Nixa, Missouri, Regina Brawley, Rebecca Kirkman and her husband Jon, Cory Brawley and his wife Brenda all of Summersville, Missouri; great grandchildren, Randy Joel Sykes and his wife Daniela of Austin, Texas, Kimberly Shafer and her husband Nathan of West Plains, Missouri, Morgan Brawley, Karen and Kassi Kirkman, Daniel and Hannah Brawley all of Summersville, Missouri; great great grandchildren, Zachary Sykes of Austin, Texas and Ashlyn Melton of West Plains, Missouri; and a brother-in-law Donald Lampkins of Sycamore Illinois and a host of other family members.
