Betty Lou Young

Betty Lou Young was born October 19, 1935 at Redford, Missouri to Jerry and Ella (Russell) Brewer.  She passed away January 31, 2024 at Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehab in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 88.

Betty grew up in the Redford community in rural Reynolds County.  She later moved to St. Louis where she met George Roland Young who was from Summersville, Missouri. They were united in marriage on August 8, 1959 at Union, Missouri.  They were blessed with one son, Travis.  They moved to Sycamore, Illinois where she worked at Ideal Industries Incorporated until her retirement.  After retiring she and Roland moved back to Summersville.

She attended the Summersville Christian Church until moving to Nixa, Missouri.

Betty loved to visit with her family and friends over the phone.  She had a smile that would light up a room and an infectious laugh that you could always pick out of a crowd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Ella Brewer; her husband, George Roland Young and 3 brothers, Floyd, Loyd and Gene Brewer.

Betty is survived by her son Travis Merlin Young and his wife Angela; a grandson, Nathan Fyffe; a nephew Mark Brewer and his wife Cindy as well as numerous other family members and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
