Summersville

Carol Jean (Marler) Goggin, 81, of Summersville, Mo, formerly of Leeper, MO, passed from this life December 20, 2016, at 9:12am with family members at her side.

She was born Aug 7, 1935 in Mill Spring, Missouri, a daughter of Noah William and Lela Lillian (Britt) Marler, one of ten children in a close-knit, loving family.

On July 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Howard Eugene “Gene” Goggin of Leeper, MO, four sons were born to this union.

Carol was a Christian and devoted her life to her family and her church.

She is survived by her four sons, George Edward (Suzie) Goggin of Maryland Hts, MO,

Dennis Eugene Goggin of Summersville, MO, Ronald Dale (Carole) Goggin of Rolla, MO, and David Alan (Joan) Goggin of Bristow, VA; one brother James Marvin (Sue) Marler of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters Betty Rose Deming of St. Louis, MO, and Lillian “Billie” Eaton of Ellsinore, MO; three grandchildren Dennis Eugene Goggin II of CA, Stacy Lynn (Anthony) Colletti of IL, and Jacob Ethan Goggin of FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Goggin; three brothers, Louis Edward “Huck” Marler, Noah William “Slim” Marler, Jr., and Fenton “Nick” Marler; and four sisters, Evelyn Marler, Jane Ortner, Nedra Barbre, and Sally Lundy Kennon.


In lieu of flowers the family asked that contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
