Chesley Robert “Chet” Tilley, 75, of Summersville, Missouri, passed away on June 7, 2026, at NHC Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. He was born May 28, 1951, in Butte, Montana, to Robert Maurice Tilley and Lela (Morehead) Tilley.

Chet was united in marriage to Debra Benson in 1973. To this union, three daughters were born: Nicole, Donna, and Kimberly.

Chet proudly served his country both in the United States Army and in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He worked as an aircraft maintenance technician from July 7, 1972, until October 26, 1980. He moved to Summersville in 1999, where he owned and operated Summersville Auto Electric and later worked for the City of Summersville. There was nothing that Chet couldn’t figure out a way to fix.

Chet cared deeply for the Summersville community and was known for his hardworking nature and willingness to help others. He enjoyed spending time at Karr Kare visiting with Barb, Karen and many others while getting his coffee, nicotine and chocolate fix

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chet is survived by his three daughters, Nicole, Donna, and Kimberly; one granddaughter, Annabella Tilley; along with his special friends in the Summersville community that he loved so much.

Chet will be remembered as a kindhearted man who loved his family, friends, and community. His dedication to his work, his country, and the people around him left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was very loved and will be dearly missed.
