Crysta Pross (Smith) Cook the daughter of Thomas Jackson Smith and Artie Emmy (Gale) Smith was born on December 23, 1928 in Hartshorn, Missouri. She gained her eternal home on Thursday morning, December 14, 2017 making her age 88 years 11 months and 29 days.
Crysta was united in marriage to Olen Cook, November 29, 1952 making their union together 49 years before Olen passed away in 2002. They were blessed with 4 children, Ronnie Lee, Donna, Bobby Dee, and Terry Lynn.
Crysta was saved at an early age and was a member of the Valley Center Baptist Church in Hartshorn. She enjoyed helping with bible school and working with her church family. She worked for many years at the Angelica Uniform Factory where she worked as a hot head presser.
She enjoyed gardening and the fruits of her labor provided for her family. She was also known for her beautiful quilts and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Crysta is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Artie Smith, her husband Olen Cook and infant daughter Donna, 5 sisters, Virgie Belback, Laura Dewitt, Goldie Beck, Areth Mogan and Susie Stark, 5 brothers Carl, Henry (Johnie), Norman, Charlie, and Arvel.
Crysta is survived by 3 sons, Ronnie Cook, Bob Cook and Terry Cook all of the Hartshorn area, 1 stepdaughter Barbara Jean, 2 grandchildren, Christina Marie Cook and Donald Robert Cook, several great grandchildren, 5 adopted grandchildren Michael Barton, Matthew Barton, Tonia Smith, Billie Jo Bailey and Cameran Clark, 1 sister Freda Arl and husband Walter of Ellington, MO, 2 sisters-in-law Billy Cook and Bonnie Vandevort, 1 brother-in-law Edward German and host of nieces, nephews and other family members. Crysta will be missed.
