Don Everett Pierce was born May 13, 1945 at Camden, Missouri to Everett and Trieva (Southers) Pierce.  He passed away at his home in Summersville, Missouri on July 27, 2023 at the age of 78 years and 2 months.

Don was united in marriage to Joan Bird Pierce on February 14, 1998.  He had 3 children from a previous marriage, David, Donny and Susan and gained 2 more children with his marriage to Joan, David and Sandra.

Don lived the majority of his life in the Kansas City area where he worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union.  He and Joan moved to Summersville 4 years ago to be close to family.

He was an avid golfer and loved throwing darts, bowling and shooting trap in his younger years.  He adored his grands and never missed a ball game or cross country meet and loved playing dice with them.  He liked the Royals and the Chiefs and if he wasn’t playing golf, he was watching it on TV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Trieva Pierce; his wife, Joan Bird Pierce; a daughter, Susan Pierce and brothers, Donald, John and Ronnie as well as one sister.

Don is survived by his brothers, Gene and Billy Pierce as well as one sister; sons, David Pierce, Donny and wife Becky Pierce and David Bird; daughter, Sandra Mattison and husband Fred; grandchildren, Crystal Rutledge and husband Jason, Korbin Peters, Krystina Long, Jonathan Courtney, Jesse Pierce, Abigail Pierce and Maggie Pierce; great grandchildren, Zane, Kyah and Ravyn Rutledge, Ashton Brawley and Kaden Roberts.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
