Donald W. Maloney was born on June 2, 1927 in Centerview, Missouri to Rufus Henley and Effie Bell (Whitley) Maloney. He passed away on October 1, 2019 at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri at the age of 92.
Donald grew up in the Centerview and Holden areas and graduated from Centerview High School. Growing up, he was a member of the Holden Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of 18. He served his country in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946.
He was a member of the Summersville Masonic Lodge as well as being a charter member of the Oath Keepers Minutemen when it was formed in the State of Missouri.
Donald was united in marriage to Perdilla (Pat) Hancock on November 27, 1974 and he brought three sons to their union.
Donald worked for 20 years as the supervisor of the Kansas City water department as well as 20 years for the Kansas City Power and Light and the last 5 years held the position of Safety Director before his retirement.
He enjoyed anything outdoors whether it be camping, hunting, fishing, woodcarving, black powder shooting and outdoor cooking. He took pride in the outdoor cooking competitions he hosted in Houston.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Effie Maloney.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; sons, Joe Maloney, Wayne Maloney and wife Cathy and Steve Maloney and wife Virginia; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
