Donovan Dale Karr

December 30, 1988 — June 26, 2021

Summersville

Donovan Dale Karr was born December 30, 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri to Rodger and Laura (Lotz) Karr.  He passed away June 26, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 32.

He grew up in Summersville and graduated from Summersville High School with the class of 2007.  In 2010 he went to work in the oil fields and worked his way up to being a rig manager.  Donovan attended and was a member of the Praise and Worship Church in Summersville.

Donovan was united in marriage to Kelsey Curlile on June 5, 2013 and they were blessed with two girls, Kyntleigh and Kaisley.

He was preceded in death by his mother Laura and his grandpa Dale Karr.

Donovan is survived by his wife, Kelsey; his daughters, Kyntleigh and Kaisley; his father, Rodger; a brother, Danny Kreider; his grandmother, DeLois Karr; father in law, Aaron Curlile; mother in law, Melanie Curlile; sister in law Kyra Franklin and her husband Austin; Brad and Katie Shockley and their children Jacob, Josh and Grace who were also like parents and their kids like siblings to him; he is also survived by several other family members and friends.

Donovan loved spending time on the farm, taking care of and talking with the cows and using his favorite Kubota tractors to feed and do other chores around the farm.  He enjoyed his time spent out on the rigs with his oilfield brothers.  He would go out of his way to help anyone he could.  Most of all, Donovan loved spending time with Kelsey, Kyntleigh and Kaisley.  They were his whole world and you didn’t have to be around him very long to know that.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for Kyntleigh and Kaisley and may be left at the funeral home.
