Doris Jean (King) Cooper, the daughter of Ray and Vona (Bilbrey) King, was born on May 11, 1948 at Summersville, Missouri. She passed away on May 6, 2019 at her home at the age of 70.

She grew up in the Summersville community and graduated from Summersville High School. After graduation she moved to Jefferson City and worked there for a time. She later returned to Summersville where she worked at Angelica. After Angelica closed she worked at Bay Creek Manufacturing. In 1997 Doris became disabled from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Doris enjoyed fishing and raising a big garden and was well known for the large tomatoes she grew. She also loved her horses, Beauty and Baby and her dogs were a huge part of her life as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Vona King.

Doris is survived by her best friends Bobbie Cobble, Paulette Shoults and Keri Terrill; her siblings, Arnold Ray King Jr.(Charlotte) of Summersville, Missouri, Jimmie Don King(Lorene) of West Plains, Missouri and Gary Lynn King(Paula) of Willow Springs, Missouri; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
