Edward David German peacefully entered his eternal rest, into the open arms of God, Friday, February 28, 2020 at his home in Hartshorn, Missouri. Edward gave his heart to God many years ago which he affirmed to friends and family every time he was asked.
Edward was born to Othel and Eathyl German at Mountain View, Missouri on April 15, 1941, making his age 78 years, 10 months and 13 days.
He lived all of his life on the family farm and enjoyed raising pigs and cattle and telling stories about his days growing up on the farm. Some of those stories were about sitting on his dad’s lap driving the “doodlebug” at age 5. Another favorite was at age 10, walking behind the “old mule” plowing the tater patch or riding the pig from dad’s house down the road to grandpa’s house.
Edward attended school through the 8 th grade at Blackvalley School, then completed grades 9 through 12 and graduated from Summersville High School in 1959.

Edward worked for a few years at the Charcoal Plant and then hired on at Angelica Uniform Company where he worked for 33 years. He began as a time study and moved up to plant manager until it closed at which time he retired.
On Easter weekend of 1997, God gave Edward a new beginning when a friend introduced him to Patricia Fern (Patti) Gimpel. Two years later Edward and Patti were married on June 5, 1999 making their union together 20 blessed and happy years. To this union Patti brought two sons, Brian and Randle. Edward and Patti enjoyed spending time together and shared everything from household chores to farm chores to riding the four-wheeler around the farm and down log trails. Edward valued the time he spent with family and lifelong friends.
