Elizabeth Lea (Neagle) Edgmond, daughter of Homer Neagle and Emma Lena (Marrow) Neagle, was born November 21, 1935, in Hartshorn, Missouri. Elizabeth went to her heavenly home on December 15, 2020.
She was united in marriage to Johnnie Edgmond on June 3, 1967, and through this union, they have one daughter, Teresa. Elizabeth and Johnnie were married 53 years until Johnnie departed this life on June 15, 2020.
Elizabeth is proceeded in death by her parents, Homer and Emma Lena Neagle, her husband Johnnie Edgmond, and one sister, Rowena Bates, and many sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s. And her beloved little dog Candy.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Teresa Stark and her husband Kevin of Houston, Missouri, and one grandson, Kyler Stark of St. Roberts, Missouri and his girlfriend Bekah. Elizabeth enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandma and her grandson Kyler was the light of her life, whom she loved very much. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Georgie Bond of Houston, Missouri.
She was very domesticated and enjoyed cleaning her house, cooking, and making her homemade potato salad and her traditional fruit cake. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts, but she especially enjoyed gardening. She raised flowers and vegetables and loved watching them grow. She also enjoyed watching the squirrels and rabbits and baby bunnies hopping around her yard. She also enjoyed watching birds build nests in her birdhouses and watching the baby birds fly way. She said being outside was like being close to the Lord and all His creation.
Elizabeth accepted the Lord at a very young age and from then on, she was dedicated to living her life for Christ. She read her Bible daily and went to the Lord in prayer. She especially like going to church. She attended Hartshorn Assembly of God for many years. As a young woman, she taught Sunday School for the younger kids at church. She made her own homemade felt boards and characters so she could tell the children stories about Jesus and his love.
In her later years, when her and Johnnie moved to Houston, where she lived at Hamrick Terrace, she made many friends whom she loved dearly. Once in Houston, she began attending Life Church, where she made many friends and that became as family to her. She loved going to church every Sunday so she could sing, clap her hands, worship the Lord, and hear the sermon.
Elizabeth was a great inspiration to the many people who knew here. She never turned down a kind handshake or hug. Even during her long illness, she took the time to read her Bible and pray and ask God to help give her strength.
Elizabeth is now with her Savior, walking in the streets of gold. She will suffer no more.
Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” and that is what she did.
Elizabeth will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
This is not goodbye but see you later. We will all meet in heaven again someday.
