March 28, 1959 — October 26, 2020

Eminence

Emmett Wayne Tate, age 61 of Eminence, departed this life October 26, 2020 at St Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri.  He was born March 28, 1959 in St Louis Missouri to Francis Eugene (John) and Seltania Kay (Wood) Tate.

In 2000, he moved to the Eminence area where in 2003 he met the love of his life, Jodi. When he and Jodi got together, he instantly became a father to Kasey and loved her as his own. He and Jodi became united in marriage on February 9, 2013 and were blessed with a son, Karson.  Emmett was a loyal and devoted husband and loving father.  He loved the yearly family trips to Panama City Beach.  He also enjoyed going to the kid's ballgames, riding four wheelers and cruising the backroads of Shannon County.

Emmett loved to hunt, especially hunting elk and antelope in Colorado and Wyoming with Karson and his buddies.  Deer season in the Ozarks was also a special time. He and Karson would meet his brother John and friends Jay, Mark and Tim at deer camp and they all had a good time.

Emmett had a big heart.  He was always ready to help a friend or a neighbor in need, or just give moral support when and where he could and would never let anyone pay him for his service.  He had a strong belief in God.

Emmett was employed with Barry Wehmiller Packaging Systems of Loveland, Colorado.  His work took him across the United States and  to countless countries throughout the world. H e said his favorite place he traveled to was Singapore.

Preceding him in death were his father, John Tate, his grandparents Emmott and Verna Wood, and his brother David Burch.

Emmett is survived by his wife Jodi, daughter Kasey and son Karson of the home, his mother Kay Tate of Eminence; brother John Tate of Florissant, MO; and his sister Debra (Jim) Hervatin of Warrenton, MO; mother-in-law, Linna Wood of Eminence; sister-in-law Phyllis Burch of Sikeston, MO; Emmett also leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.  He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.
