Evelyn Aileen Crane Sykes the daughter of Howard Bryson and Allie Mae Stayton Bryson was born September 28, 1933 in Summersville, Missouri. Evelyn gain her wings to heaven Tuesday evening, March 20, 2018 at the Mountain View Health Care, making her age 84 years, 5 months and 30 days.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Bill Crane in 1958. They were blessed with 5 children, Andree, Raymond, Billy Lee, Howard and Donald. After Bill’s death Evelyn married William Thurman Sykes on September 12, 2009.
Evelyn attended Licking High School and later went to St. Louis, Missouri to earn her cosmology license. After finishing her cosmology degree she returned to Summersville where she ran a beauty salon for several years. She and her husband Bill raised Bulldogs and she loved caring for them. Later in life she devoted her life to caring for her family.
She was a faithful dedicated member of Eunice Baptist Church. She was the church pianist for many years. She love the Lord and served him any way she could. She was also a member of the Summersville Order of Eastern Star Chapter 363 for several years. She like to work word-search books, collecting Angels and visiting with family.
After her health declined she went to live at Mountain View Health Care, where she was treated as family. She loved her care givers as her own family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Allie Bryson, husbands Bill Crane and Thurman Sykes, son Raymond Crane and grandson Howard Crane Jr., great grandson Lucuas Steffan Brown.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Andre Havens and husband Ray of Summersville, Billy Crane and wife Linda of Eunice, Howard Crane of Summersville,.She also loved her children from her marriage to Thurman Sykes, Sharon (Darrell) Odom, Terry (Chrissann) Sykes, Gary (Kathy) Sykes, Rhonda (Sonny) Holden, Randy (Paula) Sykes. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren and 1 on the way, and 2 great great grandchildren, 1 sister Lucille (Allen) Barnett and husband LC, and a host of nieces and nephews.
