Frank Herman Steelman

Frank Herman Steelman, the son of Burley Edgar and Vena May (Sykes) Steelman, was born on April 19, 1930 at Hartshorn, Missouri. He passed away at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, Missouri on April 4, 2019, making his age 88 years 11 months and 15 days.

Frank was united in marriage to Betty Jo Norris on May 16, 1951 and to their union 7 children were born, Judith Marlene, Jack Herman, Linda Kay, Gary Lee, Teresa Lynn, Melissa Jo and Robert Dale.

Frank was a member of the Hartshorn Assembly of God where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Vena Steelman; wife, Betty; daughter, Linda Barton; sister, Beulah Purcell; brothers, Billy, Paul, Floyd and Clarence; grandchildren, Chad Kaut, Eric Meyers and Jackie Michel.

Surviving are his children, Judy (Richard) Kaut of Sarcoxie, Jack (Nimmie) Steelman, Gary (Marilyn) Steelman of Hartshorn, Teresa (Larry) Davis of Mountain View, Melissa (Curt) Michel of Hartshorn, and Robert (Emily) Steelman of Summersville; sister-in-law, Marge Steelman of Mexico, MO; 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Frank was always known for his gardening and his willingness to share his harvest. He loved to fish and work on his farm raising cows on Big Creek. Frank never met a stranger and was always willing to help in any situation any way he could. Frank was known for talking about The Lord and those who had already went home and was just waiting for the day he could be reunited with all of them. Always remember it’s not goodbye, but see you later, when we all can be together again in the presence of The Lord. “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7.”
