George E. Howell

Summersville

George Earl Howell, the son of John and Mildred (Smith) Howell, was born on August 4, 1942 at Salem, Missouri. He passed away at his home in Summersville, MO on March 18, 2019 at the age of 76 years 7 months and 14 days.

George was united in marriage to Janice Wandell and to this union 4 children were born: Ronnie, Kevin, Kenneth and Roger. George later married Marilyn Pitts Evans on January 1, 1995 and to their union Marilyn brought three children: Tara, Donnie and Shannon who all called him dad.

George sat on the Summersville City Council and also belonged to the Flag Committee. He took great pride in the installation of the flags on the Summersville square as he was also a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1960 to 1963. He also had a strong commitment to the City of Summersville and was always working for the betterment of the town.

George loved hunting and spent all time in the outdoors that he could. He was definitely a people person as well and he knew no strangers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Howell; his son, Kenneth Howell; a brother, Danny Howell; sisters, Edna Mae Clayton, Fern George, Louise Pitts, and Becky Thomlinson; and also by a grandson, Brandon White.

George is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Ronnie, Kevin and Roger Howell; his stepchildren, Tara Finley, Donny Evans and Shannon (David) Trokey; grandchildren, Kenzy Haeffner, Savannah Eckert, Rebekah Howell, Sarah Howell, Danielle Finley, Dallas Finley, Dillyn Hogan, Austin Gross, Layla Evans and AdaLyn Evans; and also by great grandchildren, Keegan Gaston, Ransome Haeffner, Ellie Eckert and AdaLynn Eckert.

George will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
