Georgia Ann (Davis) Howell Quackenbush, daughter of George Henry and Marie (Carpenter) Davis, was born on March 12, 1943, in West Plains, Missouri. She passed away on October 13, 2025, at her home in Summersville, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

Georgia attended Summersville Schools, and after graduating, she married John Howell. To this union two sons were born, John Brian and George Eric. She later married Lyle Quackenbush, who preceded her in death on May 1, 2006, in Kennewick, Washington.

She worked for several years at the Angelica Factory before moving to Washington State with her mother to be closer to her brother and family. There she earned her certification as a dental assistant and spent several years in that field. It was during this time that she met her loving husband, Lyle. Together they enjoyed traveling, hiking, and photography.

Georgia’s faith was always a priority, as was her love for her family. She was a long-time member of Summersville First Baptist Church. Later in life, she moved to Massachusetts to be near her sons and their families, where they made many cherished memories. She then moved to Imperial, Missouri, where she shared a special friendship and home with her longtime friend, Verna Mae Cheek.

Georgia loved being involved with her church and traveling. She also enjoyed shopping, antiquing, and going out to lunch. A talented pianist, she played both at home and at church, inspiring her grandchildren. She found joy in cross-stitching and embroidery, creating many handmade treasures for her loved ones. Georgia was thrilled to move back to Summersville, where she quickly became an active and joyful member of the senior housing community. She rekindled many friendships, loved reminiscing, taking long drives, and watching her younger son’s children marry over the past few years. Georgia led a full, faith-filled, and busy life surrounded by the people she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Delbert Quackenbush; her parents, George and Jessie Marie Davis; and one brother, Gerald (Jerry) Davis.

Georgia is survived by her sons, J. Brian Howell and wife Kathi of Ware, Massachusetts, and G. Eric Howell and wife Terry of Mountain View, Missouri; her grandchildren, Briana and husband Mike Anair, Bridget and husband Todd Dube, John Garrett Howell, Brenna and husband Jono Klott, Amanda and husband Fred Kowtowski, and George Keith and wife Michelle Howell; and seven great-grandchildren: Miles, Griffin, Rowan, Lilliana, Sophia, Keilty, and Knox. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Georgia will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family and friends. Her kindness, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
