Harrold Adolph Hatter was born on October 22, 1932 in Tillamook, Oregon to Joseph George and Ruth (Robertson) Hatter. He passed away at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas on May 4, 2019 at the age of 86.
Harrold grew up in Oregon and Nevada. He joined the United States Navy on May 16 th , 1950 in Reno, Nevada. He faithfully served his country during the Korean and Vietnam wars and with over 29 years of service he retired on July 8, 1979.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Moore on July 21, 1967. They moved to the farm in Summersville in 1984. They attended the Midvale Pentecostal Holiness Church. Harrold later moved to Baldwin City, Kansas in 2016.
Harrold and Dorothy enjoyed traveling together in their RV. He also enjoyed fishing, his dogs and especially loved spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Hatter; his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Arva; brothers, Gene Hatter, Paul Hatter, Chet Hatter, Lynn Dahlen, Dale Hatter, Wallace Hatter and Basil Hatter.
Harrold is survived by his children, Deborah White, Alena James, Tommie Hatter, Elembia Holland, Ronald Hatter and Joseph Hatte r; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Loas; sisters, Clara Belle Smith, Vi Hileman and Dorothy Salballas as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
