Joanna M. Jones

Joanna M. (Moore) (George) Jones, the daughter of Marshall and Beatrice (Connolly) Moore, was born November 8, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois.  She passed away January 29, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Summersville, Missouri at the age of 95.

She grew up in Springfield, Illinois and was united in marriage to Delmar Lee George Sr and to their union 7 children were born: Delmar Jr., Sandy, Eugene, Treena, Judy, Terry and Robin.  She later married James Jones.

Joanna loved to travel and also enjoyed visiting casinos during her travels.  She liked spending her winters in Arizona and was an avid watcher of the series Gunsmoke, often spending all day watching it on TV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Beatrice Moore; a son, Delmar Lee “Butch” George Jr.; husband, Delmar Lee George Sr. and husband James Jones.

Joanna is survived by her children, Sandy Blakely and husband Lou, Gene George, Treena Heiney and husband Doyle, Judy George, Terry George and Robin George; a sister, Sherry Wheiland and husband Richard as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
