Josephine G. Cross

Josephine G. Cross the daughter of John William Edgmond and Mabel Elizabeth (Willis) Cross was born April 11, 1930 at Hartshorn, Missouri. She passed away at the Houston House Nursing Center in Houston, Missouri, on Sunday, December 24, 2017 making her age 87 years 8 months and 13 days.

Josephine was united in marriage to Eugene Cross. They were blessed with 6 children, Gene, Bonnie, Frances, Winfred, Elaine and Michael.

In her early years she attended Hartshorn Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed being outside tending her garden, pulling weeds or working her her flower beds. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Due to ill health she moved to Houston to be near family. When she became unable to stay alone she lived with her daughter, Elaine, then later going to live at Licking Park Manor and Houston House.

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Cross, daughter Frances, brother Alton Cross, sisters, Leon Kinsworthy, Mary Cross and June Smith.

She is survived by her children, Gene Cross of Hannibal, Missouri, Bonnie Cross of Springfield, Missouri, Winfred Cross and wife Reva of Mountain View, Missouri, Elaine Cross of Houston, Missouri and Michael Cross of Van Buren, Missouri. Josephine is survived by her beloved grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, 1 sister Georgia Bond of Hartshorn, Missouri, 1 brother Johnny Edgmond and wife Elizabeth of Houston, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews.
