Kenneth Darold Blake was born on November 3, 1941, son of Omer and Lorene Blake in Hartshorn, MO. Kenneth, or Kenny, as his friends and family called him, spent the majority of his life in Summersville, MO. He graduated from Summersville High School with the class of 1958. He lived a short time in Granite City, IL where he worked for Union Starch and a short stint of time in Hannah, WY working for the pipeline. He was drawn back home to Summersville where he lived out his days retiring from Ozark Boat works. His passions included spending time with family and friends, playing music, hunting, fishing, the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues.
Kenny enjoyed playing music, one of the bands he spoke often about was The Texas County Play Boys. He also spent many late weekend nights playing music with his brother, Gene Blake, and friends Ray James and Donnis Belew. He met the love of his life, Mary Jean Haynes, while playing music and had the pleasure of marrying her on January 12, 1963. They shared 60 years of marriage and three children: Kevin, Rhonda, and Michael.
Kenny was an honest, hard working man with a kind heart and a firm hand. He enjoyed spending time in the woods, but especially on the water teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt and fish.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Omer and Lorene Blake, Father and mother-in-law, Ottis and Mandy Haynes, sister-in-law, Imogene Blake, brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Rosetta Norris, and good friend, J.R. Keeling.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Mary of the home, his brother, Gene Blake, his son, Kevin Blake and wife Josie, daughter, Rhonda Smith and husband Scott, and son Michael Blake all of Summersville, MO. His grandchildren Ryan (Marcella) Blake, Ashley (Josh) Hall, MaKayla Brooks, Jonathan (Kiera) Smith, Tori (Roger) Porter, Brittany (Chuck) Miller, and Tyler Blake. As well as great grandchildren: Lyla, Jameson, Alivea, Hannah, Blake, Bella, Christopher, Adalynn, Anna Grace, Raylan, and Jax.
Kenny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
