Kenneth Joe Hay

Kenneth Joe Hay, the son of Cecil Byron Hay Sr. and Oleta Mae (Barton) Hay, was born on January 18, 1947 in Mineral Wells, Texas. He passed away on July 27, 2019 at Mtn. View Healthcare in Mtn. View, Missouri at the age of 72.

Kenneth grew up helping his dad on the family farm on Possum Kingdom Lake where they raised cattle and grew peanuts. He moved to the Summersville area in 1990 and lived with his sister Carolyn and her family for several years. He loved spending time in the outdoors and taking care of and watching the cattle graze in the fields. Kenneth also enjoyed reading and in his later years he could be found helping the other residents at the care home where he resided.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Oleta Hay; a brother, Cecil Hay Jr. and a sister Patricia Hay.

Kenneth is survived by his sister, Carolyn Alton of Summersville, MO; nephews, Lance and Jeffrey Alton of Summersville, MO and Richard and Joe Allan Hay of Mineral Wells, TX; nieces, Dawn Cooper and Carlian Robinson of Summersville, MO; an aunt, Fran Bass of Paradise, TX and an uncle, Wesley Shubert of TX as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake in Mineral Wells, Texas.
