Leonard "Len" Desalme Hebert

August 29, 1948 — October 6, 2020

Summersville

Leonard DeSalme Hebert was born August 29, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri to Orville and Charlotte (DeSalme) Hebert. He passed away October 6, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 72.

Len was united in marriage to Patsy (Lee) Hebert on January 6, 1967. To this union, eight children were born, Robert, Lenny, Anna, Charlotte, Michael, Raymond, Jennifer and William. Len and Patsy also raised several grandchildren over the years, Jese, Patsy, Mikey and Lil’ Lenny.

Len loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and just spending time with his family and friends. He also liked to work on the many vehicles that he owned.

Len spent over 30 years working for the area townships and took great pride in his work. You never had to travel far down a road in Carroll township to know that it was one that Len took care of.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, his parents Orville and Charlotte Hebert; his sons, Raymond and Robert Hebert; great-granddaughter Taylor Lane; granddaughter Mackenzie Batchcelor and great-grandson, Maddox Stewart; as well as a good friend, Bill Brooks.

Len is survived by his children: son Jamie Hebert of Summersville, daughter Anna Anderson and husband Carl of West Plains, daughter Charlotte Keeling and husband Chris of Eminence, Michael Hebert and wife Vikki of Summersville, daughter Jennifer Blackwell and husband Denver of Salem, William Hebert of Summersville; two daughters-in-law, Jessie Hebert of Summersville and Rita Hebert White of Cuba; two great friends who were as close as brothers, Eddie Dewitt and Bob Hunt; he is also survived by the many “strays” as he lovingly called them, Karen Holden, Derrick Bilzing, Diane Fleetwood, Mike Williams, Rusty Pendegraft, Jason Halstead and many more; also surviving are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Len will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
