Lillie “Bea” Pitts, the daughter of Ralph Cook and Opal Cook (Smith), was born on December 16, 1935 in Perryton, Texas and passed away at Birch Tree, Missouri on March 26, 2024 making her age 88.
Bea was united in marriage to Harold Chloe Pitts on May 25, 1952. They were married 71 years. They had a strong marriage with Jesus at the center. Bea and Chloe were always together and during their union of marriage they had two children, Stephen Michael and Katherine Ann.
Bea was the third of the Cook Sisters, which included Rosa, Yvonne, Bea, Jerry, Pat, Mary, and Connie. She loved her family and always looked forward to the times they would be together. She knew everyone’s children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all as if they were her very own.
While living in Summersville, Bea was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and then Faith Baptist Church. She loved Jesus and her church family. She served the Lord for many years in many ways and influenced everyone she met with her joyful spirit. Bea lived a rich, full life with the Lord always at the center. She was a devout, born-again Christian and knew Jesus as her personal Savior. She shared her faith often. She believed the Bible and read it regularly. She enjoyed Gospel music and hymns.
Bea worked at many places in her life, but her favorite job was being a Grandmother. Bea loved her grandsons dearly. She was incredibly proud of Wesley Gaebel, and Jack and Brock Pitts. She loved them fiercely and they gave her energy. She talked about her grandsons all of the time to everyone she would see. Some of Bea’s happiest moments were playing games during the holidays with Chloe, Mike, Rhonda (her favorite daughter-in-law), Kathy, Wes, Amy, Jack, Brock, and Emma.
Her home was always open to family and friends. She had the gift of hospitality and made others feel welcome. She loved to visit with people, tell stories, and laugh with them. Everyone wanted to be around Bea. She listened to them, gave them advice, and made everyone feel special.
Bea is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Opal Cook, and sisters Rosa, Yvonne, and Jerry.
She is survived by husband Chloe, children Mike and Rhonda Pitts and Kathy Gaebel, sisters Pat, Mary, and Connie, and grandsons Wesley, Jack, and Brock.
