Lorene G. Crabtree, daughter of Jack and Nora Stark was born January 26, 1922 in Chanute, KS. She went to be with the Lord May 21, 2019 at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, MO at the age of 97.
She started dating Arvel Crabtree in February 20, 1938 and in her words, “fell head over heels in love”. She was united in marriage March 4, 1941 in Houston, MO to Arvel. They made their home in Hartshorn, MO and to their union two children were born; Herman Leroy and Loetta Marlene.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; father-in-law Charlie Crabtree; mother-in-law Ellen Crabtree; brother Estel Stark; son Herman Crabtree; grandson Curtis Crabtree and son-in-law Paul Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Smith of Summersville; one brother Elvin Stark of Sanger, TX; daughter-in-law Jamesina Crabtree of Foyil, OK; two grandsons, Kevin Smith and wife Stephanie of Republic, MO and Keith Smith of Summersville, MO; three granddaughters, Carmen Cook and husband Rick of Foyil, OK, Cindy Goodman and husband Ray of Gainesville, TX, and Kayla Gibson and husband Shane of Tulsa, OK; 20 great-grandchildren and 15 great great-grandchildren.
She lived her life for Jesus and loving her family. She was a longtime member of Valley Center Baptist Church and attended Praise and Worship Community Church. She retired after 25 years from Angelica in Summersville, MO. She loved playing games, listening to bluegrass music, and visiting with friends and family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.
