Loyd Leon Mitchell

Loyd Leon Mitchell the son of George Washington Mitchell and Lena Ethel (White) Mitchell was born July 23, 1925 at Kansas City, Missouri. Loyd went to his Heavenly home at 4:30 Pm on Monday, December 3, 2018 making his age 93 years 4 months and 10 days.

Loyd was united in marriage to Mae Bond, November 29, 1949. To their union they were blessed with one daughter, Pamilia Ann (Mitchell) Powell.

Loyd and Mae were faithful members of Praise and Worship Community Church in Summersville, were he served as a Deacon. He served in the United States Military serving in the Army from April 1, 1947 to March 31, 1950.

Loyd loved gardening and raising beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed fishing, and his greatest joy was playing and visiting with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father George Mitchell, mother Lena Mitchell, brother Ivan Mitchell, nephew Brad Mitchell, father-in-law Bill Bond, mother-in-law Blanche Bond, sister-in-law Beulah Jones, brothers-in-law Lindy, Howard, Kenneth, Red, Leroy, and Paul Bond.

He is survived by his wife Mae Mitchell of the home, daughter Pam (Mitchell) Powell and husband Larry, granddaughters, Lisa (Powell) Haynes, Misti (Powell) Cooper and husband Dustin, all of Summersville, Missouri, grandson Derek Powell and wife Haleigh of Republic, Missouri, great grandchildren Scott, Sophie and Maci Haynes, Eli, Jonah, Sadie and Henry Cooper.
