Mable Irene Stringer was born on February 16, 1943 in Corridon, Missouri to John Harvey and Jewell (Wilson) Mead. She passed away January 8, 2020 at the Houston House Nursing Center at the age of 76.
Mable grew up in the Ellington, Missouri area and later moved to Olathe, Kansas where she worked as a cook at a nursing home. She was united in marriage to William John “Bill” Stringer on January 27, 1992 and they made their home in Hartshorn.
She enjoyed the outdoors as well as visiting with relatives and friends. Mable was a member of the Hartshorn Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Jess Mead; her husband, Bill; two step-sisters Betty Sue Mead and Mary Ann Mead; mother-in-law, Dollie Stringer; brother-in-law Joe Stringer; and sisters-in-law, Eula Brim and Pauline McGallard.
Mable is survived by a brother, Johnny Mead of Caledonia, MO; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dewitt and Elsie Carmack of Hartshorn, MO as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
