Nadine Shockley

August 27, 1929 — March 28, 2024

Summersville

Naomi Nadine Shockley the daughter of Lea (Richardson) Farrow and (Carl) Rufus Farrow was born August 27, 1929, at Summersville, Missouri. Nadine passed away at the age of 94, under the comfort and care of Mountain View Health Care, March 28, 2024.  Nadine married Jack William Shockley on December 24, 1948. Into their home were born 2 sons, Richard Wayne Shockley and Danny Eugene Shockley.

During the early years of her marriage, Nadine taught school at Brown Hill and Tyrone, where she loved the children she taught and she was loved in return by them. It was probably her desire to love and care for children that would eventually find Nadine caring for the children of friends and family in her home.

Nadine was an amazing cook and was famous for the many dishes she prepared for the family. From dinner rolls to the best pies, Nadine was well known for the delicious meals she would serve. Nadine was also well known for the pleasure she found in grabbing her purse and always being ready to go! Whether it was a ballgame or a trip it was a family joke to say, “Let mom get her purse and she will be ready to go!”

Nadine’s church home was the First Chrisitan Church at Summersville. She enjoyed the  loving community of her brothers and sisters in Christ for as long as her health allowed her to attend.

Nadine was a sweet-spirited and kind-hearted woman who loved the Lord, her family and her friends. It is hard to put into words the kindness and heart to serve others that made Nadine who she was to all of us who knew and loved her.

There are many loved ones who have gone on before Nadine and who were waiting for her when she left this world and her tired body behind. Those who preceded her included her parents, Lea and Rufas, her brother, Sonny, and sister, Francis,  her husband Jack, her son Danny, her daughter-in-law Vicki, and many other loved family members.

Nadine lived her life surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her sister Beulah Dugan, her son Richard and his family, Rodney and wife, Malaysia, Scot and  wife, Tame’  and Nikki. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law Debbie and her family Michelle and husband, Gil Miley, Brad and wife, Kate, and Angie and husband, Richie Jester.  Nadine was also blessed with many great grandchildren and  five great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host other family and friends who will miss her.
