Nathanael David Cook
February 9, 1997 – July 9, 2021
Nat Cook, age 24, son of Melissa Cluny and David Cook, was born on February 9, 1997 in Springfield, Missouri. He was reborn when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a 17 year old and was baptized in Bull Creek following his profession of faith. Nat passed away on July 9, 2021 at his home in Pleasant Hope, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Daniel Cook (Papa Turkey) and Royce and Janice Smith. He is survived by his wife RaShell, their fur-kids, Tazz, Mathilda, Stella, and Kitty Kitty, his mother Melissa (Smith) Cluny and stepfather Tim, father David Cook and stepmother Dawn, grandmothers Charlene Cook and Eunice Cluny, and four brothers, Bill, Jonathan, Brad and Cam Cook, and three sisters, Katelyn Butler, Misty Buckingham, and Elisabeth Weaver, his beloved nieces and nephews and numerous cherished family members.
On July 5, 2016, Nat was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, RaShell (Davis) on a Florida beach surrounded by family.
Frequently referred to as an “old soul”, Nat possessed an uncommonly strong work ethic and exhibited natural talent in a variety of diverse areas. As a young man, he channelled his mechanical abilities and became a gifted, skilled tradesman in the automotive industry with aspirations to create his own business one day with RaShell. He was a great conversationalist who loved to entertain, laugh and make those around him laugh, and was known for being a prankster. Throughout his life, Nat developed an appreciation for many hobbies, including hunting, marksmanship, and the great outdoors. He was a collector who loved to share his various treasures and enjoyed transforming raw materials into art. He was also service minded and always quick to support anyone in need especially his siblings and cousins with whom he shared a particularly close bond. He adored all of God’s creatures but was secretly a cat lover. Above all, Nat maintained a deep affection for his faith and family, which never wavered regardless of the circumstances. Nat was a joy and treasure to his wife, parents, family, and friends. This quietly passionate man’s spark will continue to shine in each of his loved ones. He lived his life true to the meaning of his given name, Nathanael,“Gift of God”.
John 11:25-27 I am the resurrection and the source of all life; those who believe in Me will live even in death. Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never truly die. Do you believe this? Martha: Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Anointed, the Liberating King, God’s own Son who we have heard is coming into the world.
