Ray Elmer Derryberry the son the Thomas Jefferson Derryberry and Virgie Elmer (Watson) Derryberry was born March 5, 1926 at Big Creek north of Hartshorn and passed away at the Mountain View Healthcare on Thursday, November 16, 2017 making his age 91 years 8 months and 11 days.
Ray was united in marriage to Vera Lea McCallister on November 27, 1952 making their union together 60 years. They were blessed with 2 children Wanda Jean and Larry Ray.
He graduated from Summersville High School. Ray served his county serving in the United States Army in WW II. He and Vera were faithful members of the Church of Christ in Summersville.
He enjoyed gardening and hunting when he was healthy. He could often be found reading his bible.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife Vera, his parents Thomas and Virgie Derryberry, sisters, Ethel (Derryberry) Ennis, Eunice (Derryberry) Goodin, brother Eldon Derryberry.
Ray is survived by his children, Wanda Jean Hill and husband Alec of Webster Groves, Missouri and Larry Ray Derryberry and wife Kathy of Ballwin, Missouri, 8 grandchildren, Brian Hill of Webster Groves, Missouri, Steven Derryberry of Ballwin, Missouri, Scott Hill of Nairobi, Kenya, Amanda McGuire, Pacific, Missouri, Matthew Derryberry of Wildwood, Missouri, Andrew Derryberry of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Stephanie Swartzwelder of North Tonawanda, New York, 8 great grandchildren, Elyse, Kanen, Rielan, Allyson, Aubree, Kaiya, Summer and Willow, 1 brother Ernest Derryberry of Fenton, Missouri, brother-in-law Earl Goodin of Fenton, Missouri, sister-in-law Betty Hoevelmann and husband Jerry of Fenton, Missouri, and a host of nieces and nephews.
