Raymond Lee Nelson

Raymond Lee Nelson was born June 4, 1962 in St. Charles, Missouri to Leo and Stella (Plowman) Nelson.  He passed away peacefully at home  on August 18, 2024 at the age of 62.

He was united in marriage to Karen Nelson on April 24, 2010 and they were blessed with 4 children, David Bakstad, Ashley Colboth, Justin Nelson and Jason Nelson.

Ray grew up in Summersville, Missouri and graduated from Summersville High School with the class of 1980.  He worked as a machinist.

He was a member of St. Cletus Catholic Church in St. Charles, Missouri.

Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers and spending time with his family.  He especially loved spending time at the family property.  He also liked spending time with his dog Khloe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Stella Nelson and by his siblings Lester, Richard, Brenda and Ronald Nelson.

Ray is survived by his wife Karen Nelson; son, David Barstad; daughter Ashley Colboth and husband Jim; son Justin Nelson and wife Kim and son Jason Nelson and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Janate Colboth, Hayden Colboth, Liam Morales and Leo Nelson; his siblings, Ralph Plowman and wife Nedria; Harry Nelson and wife Mariam and Sandy Ruegg as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
