Rebecca Lee Powers

Rebecca Lee Powers, age 66, passed away August 1, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born November 30, 1959, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Robert Arlen Luke and Billie Ruth Webb (Mosgrove).

Rebecca graduated in 1978 from Pioneer Jr./Sr. High School in Royal Center, Indiana. She proudly served her country doing two different stints in the United States Navy during both Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. During her first stint she worked as a boiler technician and the second stint was as a welder in the Navy Seabees. She served aboard the USS Acadia. Following her time in the Navy, Rebecca worked as a welder in civilian jobs and later as a corrections officer in Dayton, Ohio. Rebecca was extremely proud of her Naval career and the time she spent serving her country.

Rebecca loved traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an animal lover and dearly loved her two dogs, River and Maya, who were her faithful companions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Arlen Luke and Billie Ruth Webb; her brother, Robert Anderson; her half-brothers, David Michael and William Michael; and a nephew, Ryan Creech.

She is survived by her children, Amanda Kennedy and husband Charlie of Hartshorn, Missouri, Jennifer Williams of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and her son, Brian Keith Powers; sisters, Patricia Revell of Indiana, Cindi Ingram of Tennessee and Donna Aldrich of Massachusetts; brothers, Russ Luke of Ohio and Michael Luke of Indiana; grandchildren, Gage Krueger of IN, Addison Kennedy and wife Haley of MO, Tristan Kennedy and wife Ashley of MO, Brooklynn Frame and partner Lucas Jenkins of IN, Brayden Berry of CA, Joshua Williams of IN, Jack Powers of IN and Kai Powers of CA; as well as great-grandchildren, Sealey, Luella and Azalea Krueger of IN, Layne Jenkins of IN and Hazel Kennedy of MO as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rebecca will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit and the pride she carried for her service in the United States Navy. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.
