Rees Richard Smith Sr the son of Joseph Napoleon Smith and Fern Adelle Vedder was born January 30, 1951 in Houston, Missouri and passed away at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, MO on June 26, 2024 making him 73 years old.

He was united in marriage to Tamara Jo Smith on September 22, 2017. Rees Richard Smith Sr has 3 children: Rejeanna Dayle Walser married to Jamye Dale Walser of Republic, MO, Eric Eugene Smith married to Stephanie Dawn Smith of Brighton, MO and Rees Richard Smith Jr married to Tiffany Louise Smith of Licking, MO. He was the step-parent of Tracy Reed, Daniel, Dawn and David Brewer. Beloved grandchildren; Hayley and Seth Walser; Joey, Kendra, John and Andie Worthy; Luke, Rose, Scott, Violet and Joey Smith; Allison, Cordelya, and Cashous Brewer; Isaac and Zoey Revelle; Krecia Reed and Christian Crisp. His ever so loved Great Grandchildren; Avix Maez, Aspen Stigall, Kacie Ketterman and Ashlynn Reed.

Rees Sr. grew up in the little area of Yukon, Missouri and completed his schooling in Summersville, Missouri, graduating in the class of 1969. He followed his love and career of truck driving throughout his life, from cord wood trucking to cross country

transportation. He had a love for talking and sharing many stories and childhood memories with everyone. Reading and watching westerns was a favorite pastime, as well as watching sports and cheering for his favorite ball teams, the Cardinals and Chiefs.

Preceding him in death was his father Joseph Smith, his mother Fern Smith, Siblings Harold (Muriel) Smith, Jesse (Katherine) Smith, Joyce (Ken) Uptegrove, and brothers-in-law Freddie Daugherty and Allen Jett.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary Daugherty and Alice Jett. Brothers Garry (Barbara) Smith, Jim (Margie) Smith and Randy Smith; along with many nieces and nephews.

This isn’t a goodbye forever, just an ‘Until We Meet Again’.

I love you My Sweetie, My Weenie, My Bub and My Jun-Ju.
