Robin Elliott Preheim, son of Garris and Pearl (Wentzel) Preheim, was born May 31, 1970, in Freeman, South Dakota. He departed this life on January 29, 2026, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, at the age of 55 years.
Robin was united in marriage to Melissa (Motzkus) Preheim on June 6, 1992. To this union two children were born: Rodney Eugene Preheim and Kaylea Robin (Preheim) Duck.
Robin attended school in Freeman, South Dakota from kindergarten through fifth grade before moving to Houston, Missouri, where he attended middle school and high school, graduating in 1989.
Robin worked in the grocery business for 35 years. He spent 13 years at Ramey’s Supermarket and nearly 24 years with Town & Country Supermarket. During his career, he unloaded trucks, managed frozen and dairy departments between two stores, helped in the produce and meat departments, and carried out and stocked when needed.
Robin was a member of the United Methodist Church in Houston. He also attended New Hope Baptist Church for a time and was currently attending First Baptist Church of Houston, Missouri.
In his free time, Robin loved watching football, especially cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Houston Tigers. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, teasing everyone around him, and spending time pestering his three granddaughters. Robin also enjoyed farming, raising Shorthorn cattle and finding things to do with his wife, Melissa.
Robin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Ada (Kaufman) Preheim of Freeman, South Dakota; maternal grandparents, Hank and Edna (Tieszen) Wentzel of Marion, South Dakota; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Stella (Loman) Motzkus of Houston, Missouri; his brother-in-law, Steve Brown of Gamaliel, Arkansas; along with several uncles, aunts, a nephew, and cousin.
Robin is survived by his loving wife, Melissa (Motzkus) Preheim of Houston, Missouri; son, Rodney Preheim and wife MaKenzie of Houston, Missouri; daughter, Kaylea Duck and husband Dakota of Nixa, Missouri; three granddaughters, Emery Preheim, Olivia Richards, and Stella Preheim, all of Houston, Missouri; parents, Garris and Pearl (Wentzel) Preheim of Houston, Missouri; brother, Rusten Preheim and wife Wendy of Houston, Missouri; niece, Allie Goins and husband Dylan of Houston, Missouri; great-nephew, Reed Goins of Houston, Missouri; great-niece, Zoey Goins of Houston, Missouri; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Robin will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a hardworking man who spent much of his life serving his community through his work in the grocery business. Known for his teasing sense of humor and kind heart, Robin brought laughter to those around him and cherished every moment spent with his family. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
