Roy "Dewayne" Sykes

Roy Dewayne Sykes, son of Leroy Sykes and Genieve Grace (Tune) Sykes was born in Mountain View, Missouri on July 13, 1957. Dewayne left this earth to his home in Heaven on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

He leaves here to treasure his memory his wife of 34 years, Teri Jean (Medley) Sykes; two sons, Dewayne Leroy Lester Sykes, daughter in law, Tammy; Michael Gregory Sykes, daughter in law, Hally; and his daughter Jessica Faye Sykes; his father, Leroy Sykes; his sister Judy Lynn (Sykes) O’Brien, brother in law, John; and his grandchildren that he loved and adored, Mikey Sykes and wife Savannah, Nickie Trujillo and husband Brandon, Hope, Erika and Lindsey Sykes, and Candice Sykes; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dewayne and Teri shared a great love for their children and grandchildren. They always shared with everyone how proud they were and how they loved and cherished each one of them. They always called their daughters in law, their daughters, and their grandchildren by marriage were simply their grandkids. They shared a great bond, being Papa and Mama to their grandchildren.

Dewayne enjoyed fishing, swimming, singing old country music, gospel music, playing board games and card games and making people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Genieve Sykes; his sister Wanda Faye Sykes: brothers Keith Eugene Sykes and Richard Dean Sykes.
