Timmy Joe Denton was born on October 23, 1967, in Houston, Missouri, to James “Shorty” and Lucille Denton. He departed this life on July 7, 2025, at the age of 57.
Tim was united in marriage to Terri Lawson on January 10, 1997. To this union, he brought Brittany and Austin, and together they had Jesse and Terra.
Tim spent his life helping and serving others. He proudly served 4 years in the Navy, dispatched for 911, and then found his true calling working on the ambulance. He dedicated 31 years to Mercy EMS, helping patients and supporting their families. He also served as Shannon County Coroner for many years.
Tim loved to wheel and deal—he would buy, sell, or trade anything. Every March, you could find him at Montauk trout fishing with family. Deer season was always spent at camp with his brothers, family, and friends. If you knew Tim, you knew he was the biggest kid in the room, he was ornery and always pestering any kid around him. He loved going to ballgames and hollering at the referees and umpires. His true passion was interacting with people.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Greg Davis, as well as his father-in-law, Terry Lawson.
Tim is survived by his wife, Terri; children Brittany (Joe), Austin (Sarah), Jesse, and Terra; sister Marla; brothers Buck (Ann) and Jim (Bev); sister-in-law Jess (Jason); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a proud grandfather to Cody, Caden, Brently, Evlynn, Jaxon, Noah, Weston, Dallas, and Houston. He also leaves behind honorary brothers Dana Hart and Denny Denton, honorary daughter Karly Helms, and honorary granddaughter Nora. His honorary sons include Joe Norris, Dylan Farris, Jacob McClurg, Austin “Tornado Boy” Shuler, and many brothers and sisters in uniform.
Tim will be remembered as a man who never met a stranger. His sense of humor, strong work ethic, and deep love for his community made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. He lived life with a servant’s heart, and his legacy will continue through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Tim's memory be made to Bradford Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
