Valorie Jane Hawkins

July 5, 1954 — November 17, 2022

Hartshorn

Valorie Jane (Burke) Hawkins was born into this world to Kenneth Burke and Ruth Mooney in San Marcos, Texas on July 5, 1954.  She left this world with Roger by her side in Kansas City, Kansas on November 17, 2022.

Val and Roger met at a get-together in Hartshorn and ever since the first date they were inseparable.  They married on April 2, 2005.

She is survived by her husband Roger; parents, Kenneth and Kate Burke; sisters, Debbie (Ronnie) Stoops, Connie Burke, Patty Boyet-Thompson, Brenda (Darryl) Lowell and Sandy (Lealin) Wake; Mother-in-law, Bonnie Hawkins; step-daughters, Jessica (Matt) Raulston, Cassandra (Phil) Hamilton and Amanda (David) Gray; brothers-in-law, Danny (Gale) Hawkins, Robin (Carol Ann) Hawkins and Gary (Debra) Hawkins; sisters-in-law, Devlyn Hawkins and Sandy Hawkins; also left to mourn her passing are 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, friends and other family members.

Preceding her in death were her mother Ruth; her husband, Rex Gates; her precious son Davey as well as brothers-in-law, Kenneth Boyet and Tom Hawkins.

Valorie was baptized in her early years and while living in Eminence enjoyed attending the Methodist Church.

Val lived her life to the fullest.  When she moved to the Ozarks, the river was her greatest joy.  It made all her worries go away and she always felt close to God on the river.  She loved riding horses, boats, side by sides or just laying out in the pool.  If you knew her at all you knew she was a fanatic about her flowers, she loved them like her children.

She loved laughter, her family and life itself.  You will be missed so badly!
