Virginia Ann Combs

Summersville

Virginia Ann Combs, the daughter of Alvie William Grover Cleveland (Cleve) and Zella Bell (Maness) Goff, was born on April 17, 1935 at Hornersville, MO. She passed away at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO on February 28, 2019 at the age of 83.

Virginia was united in marriage to Russell Allen Combs on July 28, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas and to this union five children were born: Debra Lynn, Timothy Russell, Andrea Sue, James Ralph and Jeffrey Allen.

Russell and Virginia lived in San Diego, CA while he was serving his country in the United States Navy, then came back home to Missouri where they lived in St. Louis, Eminence and in 1983 they moved to Summersville. Virginia worked for the United States Postal service for over 20 years and retired in 1993 as the Postmaster in Summersville.

Virginia loved to craft, including crocheting and also made many beautiful quilts over the years. But most of all she loved spoiling her grandkids and time spent with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve and Zella Goff; stepmother, Elisie Goff; her husband, Russell; daughter Debbie; son Jeffrey; sister, Mae Goff Branum; brother, Grover Goff; sister, Lucille Goff Statler; brother, Alvie Goff; sister, Lyle Goff Mansfield; sister, Cora Goff Harrington; brother, Bond Goff; brother, Rueben Goff, and a half-sister Linda Sue Goff Bennett.

Virginia is survived by her children, Tim Combs and wife Terri; Ann Combs Tottingham and husband Don and James Combs. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Cotton Creek Cemetery.
